I believe ECS carries some stainless steel flex sections which should hold up better than the stuff our local napa sends us. We find a lot of the welded in flex sections end up blowing apart again in a year or two, I blame it on cheap steel. We'd rather have some job to do then no job at all. Even though we are a vw dealer, we always give the customer the option of a new oem pipe or a new aftermarket flex section welded in. That way you minimize downtime, and a 2.0t sounds like ass with an open DP dump, haha. The one mechanic in this dealership is pretty good with mig and tig welding, he does side stuff at a fabrication shop in his spare time. ![]() If you want to stick with OEM, find a used one at a wrecker, and take it to a metal fabricator and have them weld a new Flex in. For my B6 I can find a Bosal OEM replacement DP for $100 on Amazon, but they don't produce one for the B7. The flex pipe section itself is cheap ($20-30) but depending on the shop, the welding can be expensive, somewhat. For us, welding a new flex in is sort of hit or miss.
